Have young peoples attitude to Religion changed over the last few years?

It seems to me theirattitude has changed a lot. When I was a teenager    going to Chuch every Sunday was something we did with pleasure.Looking around the service now you see very few of the below 30's.In this fast pacced world it seems they just can't be bothered.

Going to church is a choice, I believe pple can believe in God and yet they dont go to church, maybe once a yeah or may be you are right, they just can't be bothered at all. All my life I go to church, I have six kidz and you know this days is not easy, everything is hard in this country, and every where in the world. If we help our children and our teenager to turn their lifes around, may be, just may be we don't have to worry about them all the time, of cause they will have to learn from their mistake. I have 3 tennage kids age 19,15, 13, omg is not easy but I have to point them top yhe right direction, because we are not gonna be around forever, God is the only way, God can help our tennage kidz, get them to love God, get them to believe in God, like i said going to church is a choice...

I was appalled when I migrated to Australia, thirty years ago, to find that my son had submit to superstitious indoctrination about a god.  But he loved school, just as you loved Sunday School.  He saw his mates and played and occasionally learned something.  We had long talks about what people believe to be true and how they come to those decisions.  We probably would not have had those talks if not for RI, so for that I am thankful.   I don't think that young people can't be bothered but that don't believe in imaginary beings.  They know more about how the bible was written and why.  They understand that it was power and control that was the goal of the early church.  They are aware of the attempts of the early church to stifle all ideas that they considered would diminish that power.  As the small comments to your concern attest to, not many really care about religion anymore.

If we look back to a bloke called Gough Whitlam. He implemented the now changed face of Australia. The loss of repect for spiritualty can be associated with his term in office, other weak minded politicians have followed suit and assisted in the Churches demise even though they have been the back stop of society, they are now being crucified for what they are.Forgotten is all the good they have done.

When I was a child I really enjoyed sunday school. It was a fun place to go. We were taught bible stories in a manner that was easy for children to understand. I had not been to church in a long time and a few years ago was visiting my sister inlaw and was invited to her church. i was suprised to see members rithing arround on the floor and babbling nonsense. I believe that this would be scary and confusing for children. I made me very uncomfortable. Is it any wonder membership is falling come on people get back to basics make church fun again not a side show.

it seems to me that churches[religions] that tend to be more 'inclusive' than 'exclusive' have a better retention rate than those that are more closed in their attitudes to their congregations attitudes. to days young people are more and more multicultural and diverse in their beliefs than older generations. therefore they will not tolerate the strict idiologies of some of the less progressive and inspired theosophists.
